How We Actually Work

A clear, repeatable process is what separates marketing that compounds from marketing that burns time and budget. Here's exactly how a Remi engagement unfolds — phase by phase, week by week — so you know what to expect before you ever sign anything.

The philosophy behind how we work

Every Remi engagement follows the same six-phase process — whether we're building an SEO strategy, running paid media, or redesigning a website. A repeatable structure isn't bureaucracy; it's how we keep every project transparent, measurable, and honest.

Most agency engagements fail for the same small handful of reasons: unclear scope, missing measurement, no review cadence, and surprise fees that destroy trust. Our process exists to eliminate those failure modes before they happen. Every phase has explicit deliverables, clear decision points, and transparent communication — so there are no surprises on either side.

The process below applies to every service we offer — SEO, AEO, GEO, Web Design, and Paid Media. The deliverables in each phase change depending on the service, but the sequence, rigor, and reporting stay the same. That consistency is the point. You're hiring Remi for a way of working, not just a set of outputs.

The four principles behind every Remi engagement

Transparent measurement. Every project starts with clear success metrics tied to your business outcomes — not vanity dashboards. If we can't measure it, we won't promise it. If it doesn't tie to revenue, it doesn't belong in the monthly report.

Honest scoping. We quote transparently before kickoff and explain trade-offs when priorities conflict. If your budget doesn't fit the strategy, we say so. If you're asking for something we wouldn't recommend, we push back rather than bill you for work that won't work.

What clients say makes us different

Predictable cadence. Weekly check-ins, monthly reports, quarterly strategy reviews — the rhythm is the same every engagement. You'll never be left wondering what we're working on or when you'll next hear from us. This alone makes the relationship feel completely different from the "radio silence until the monthly report" agency experience most people have had.

Real partnership over transaction. We turn down work that isn't a good fit. We tell clients when the problem isn't what they think it is. We're in this to build long-term relationships, not bill the maximum hours per month. Clients notice this fast — and most stay for years because of it.

[ Definition ]

How we communicate during a project

Weekly check-ins
A short async update every week — what's live, what's being tested, what needs your input. No busywork calls.
Monthly reports
Written reports tied to business outcomes, not platform vanity metrics. Delivered on the same day each month.
Quarterly strategy reviews
A longer strategic conversation every 90 days to reassess priorities and plan the next quarter.
[ Who it's for ]

What we won't do

Promise results we can't guarantee
No "first-page in 30 days" claims. No guaranteed ROI. Any agency making those promises is either lying or cheating.
Lock you into proprietary systems
You own your accounts, data, and website — always. If you want to leave, we hand everything over cleanly.
Bill you for work you didn't need
We'd rather scope down and deliver honestly than pad a retainer with deliverables that don't move the needle.
[ The 6 Phases ]

The 6 phases of a Remi engagement

Every Remi engagement moves through six phases in sequence. Some take days, some take months. Each has explicit deliverables, decision points, and a clear handoff to the next — so you always know what's happening and what's next.

[ 01 · Discovery ]

Discovery & fit

Before anyone signs anything, we have a conversation about your business, goals, and what you've tried before. This is free, honest, and non-committal — we're figuring out whether we're a fit, not running a sales pitch.

What happens
  • 20-30 minute intro call
  • Honest conversation about your goals + budget
  • Early identification of fit (or lack of it)
  • Free audit scoped if helpful
  • No obligation, no hard sell
[ 02 · Audit ]

Audit & baseline

Before we recommend anything, we measure where you actually stand. This baseline becomes the ground truth we measure progress against — and often surfaces the real problems before any strategy work begins.

What happens
  • Technical, content, or campaign audit (per service)
  • Competitor benchmarking
  • Tracking + analytics review
  • Gap and opportunity analysis
  • Written audit delivered before any strategy work
[ 03 · Strategy ]

Strategy & scope

We translate audit findings into a prioritized roadmap. What to do, in what order, and what success looks like. No proposals with 47 deliverables and zero prioritization — just the handful of things that actually move the needle, ranked honestly.

What happens
  • Prioritized roadmap with clear phases
  • Scope + deliverables defined explicitly
  • Success metrics tied to business outcomes
  • Timeline with realistic milestones
  • Transparent pricing + agreement sign-off
[ 04 · Build ]

Build & launch

This is where the work gets made. Whether it's a website, an SEO content plan, an AEO restructure, or paid campaigns — we build, test internally, and ship. You review, we iterate, then we launch together.

What happens
  • Hands-on execution of agreed scope
  • Internal QA + testing before client review
  • Client review cycles with clear feedback loops
  • Coordinated launch with no surprises
  • Training/handoff where relevant
[ 05 · Optimize ]

Measure & optimize

Launch is the start, not the finish. We measure weekly, iterate based on what the data shows, and report monthly in plain language tied to your business. Real results come from dozens of small, informed adjustments — not dramatic pivots.

What happens
  • Weekly performance reviews (async)
  • Data-driven iteration on what's working
  • Monthly written reports — business outcomes first
  • Quick wins + experiments in parallel
  • Slack/email access for urgent questions
[ 06 · Scale ]

Scale & evolve

Once something is working, we scale it. Once the foundation is solid, we add new layers — new channels, new services, new content. Quarterly strategy reviews re-examine priorities so we're always pushing toward the highest-leverage next move.

What happens
  • Scaling winning campaigns + content
  • Expansion into new channels (when right)
  • Quarterly strategy reviews + priority resets
  • Cross-service opportunities surfaced
  • Long-term partnership, not a one-time project

Good process is the quiet reason some engagements succeed and most don't.

[ Remi Creative · How We Work ]

[ First 90 days ]

How does the typical timeline work?

Different services have different speeds — an SEO engagement starts showing lift in months, a paid media launch in weeks. Here's what a typical first 90 days looks like across most engagements, regardless of service.

  1. [ Phase 01 ]

    Weeks 1-2

Onboarding + audit. We get access, baseline everything, and deliver the written audit.

    • Kickoff call + access handoff
    • Full audit delivered
    • Success metrics locked
    • Clear first-90-day roadmap
  2. [ Phase 02 ]

    Weeks 3-4

First builds and quick wins. Tracking is in place, early work ships, first data rolls in.

    • First deliverables shipped
    • Tracking + reporting live
    • Quick wins identified + deployed
    • First weekly update sent
  3. [ Phase 03 ]

    Month 2

Work compounds. Testing cycles mature, early signals get clearer, first monthly report lands.

    • First monthly report delivered
    • Test cycles maturing
    • Early performance signals visible
    • Strategy refinements based on data
  4. [ Phase 04 ]

    Month 3+

Real momentum. Patterns are visible, wins are scaling, first quarterly review sets the next phase.

    • Quarterly strategy review
    • Scaling what's working
    • New experiments in parallel
    • Long-term roadmap refined

[ FAQ ]

Our Process — frequently asked questions

The twelve questions we hear most about how we actually work. Short answers first, details below.

Does this process apply to every service you offer?

Yes. Every Remi engagement — SEO, AEO, GEO, Web Design, or Paid Media — follows the same six-phase structure. The deliverables change, the rigor doesn't.

This consistency is deliberate. You shouldn't have to relearn how we work when you add a second service. The audit looks different for SEO vs Paid Media, obviously — but the sequence (Discovery → Audit → Strategy → Build → Optimize → Scale) is identical. Most clients start with one service and add more over time because the transitions are frictionless.

How long does an engagement typically last?

Project-based work (website builds, one-off audits) typically runs 6 to 16 weeks. Ongoing service engagements (SEO, AEO, GEO, Paid Media) have a 6-month minimum commitment, then continue month-to-month.

Why 6 months minimum on ongoing work? Because nothing meaningful happens in less time. SEO needs months to compound. Paid media needs weeks just to exit the learning phase. Anyone who'll sell you three months of SEO is taking your money without the time to deliver. Most clients stay for 2+ years because the work compounds — but there's no long-term lock-in.

What do you need from me to get started?

At the start: access to your accounts (website, analytics, ad platforms), honest answers about what's worked and what hasn't, and clarity on your goals. That's it.

Throughout the engagement, we ask for timely feedback on deliverables, approval on major strategic decisions, and honest communication if something isn't working. We try to minimize how much of your time we consume — most of our clients spend 1-2 hours/month on the relationship after kickoff. This isn't because we're cutting corners; it's because we know your time is the scarcest resource.

How often will we communicate?

Weekly async updates, monthly written reports, and quarterly strategy reviews. Plus ad-hoc Slack or email access for anything urgent. No weekly status meetings unless you want them.

Most agencies either over-communicate (endless status calls) or under-communicate (silence between monthly reports). We aim for the middle: structured enough that you always know what's happening, light enough that it doesn't eat your week. If you prefer a different cadence, we flex — but this is the default that works for most clients.

What do your reports actually look like?

Monthly written reports, delivered on the same calendar day every month. Each report covers what happened, what we learned, what changed, and what's next — tied to your business outcomes, not platform vanity metrics.

We don't do 40-slide PowerPoint decks that nobody reads. Reports are concise, written in plain language, and include sample screenshots or data visualizations where useful. You can read a typical monthly report in 10-15 minutes and understand exactly where the engagement stands. The Engagement Playbook (free resource above) includes a sample report so you can see what to expect.

Do I have to commit to all six phases upfront?

No. Phases 01 and 02 (Discovery and Audit) are standalone — you can start there and decide whether to continue. We price these separately so there's no pressure to commit to the full engagement until you've seen how we actually work.

Most clients start with a Discovery call (free) and a paid audit. If the audit makes a strong case for ongoing work, we move to Strategy + Build. If it doesn't, or if you want to implement internally, you keep the audit and we part on good terms. Real partnerships don't require lock-in.

What happens if I want to pause or end the engagement?

After the initial 6-month commitment, you can pause or end the engagement with 30 days' notice. We hand over accounts, data, documentation, and access cleanly — everything stays yours.

If things aren't working before the initial 6 months are up, we'd rather have that conversation early than limp through to the end. We'll renegotiate scope, refund unearned work, or part ways if it's the right call. Honest exit terms are part of the honest partnership — and frankly, it's how we want to be treated as clients too.

Do you work with other agencies or freelancers we already have?

Yes, often. Many clients have existing content writers, video producers, brand designers, or specialist consultants. We work alongside them, not against them.

The key is clear role definition upfront. We're happy to own some parts of a project and collaborate on others, but blurred responsibilities cause problems. If you have a brand designer, we'll implement your brand faithfully. If you have a content writer, we'll brief them and edit for SEO. We don't try to replace good specialists who already know your business.

Can you guarantee the results I want?

No. Any agency that guarantees specific outcomes — first-page rankings, guaranteed ROI, conversion rate lifts — is either misleading you or cherry-picking results.

What we guarantee is our process: transparent measurement, rigorous execution, honest communication, and scope we actually deliver. Most of our clients see meaningful progress within 90 days and compounding returns after 6-12 months. But results depend on your offer, market, timing, and dozens of factors outside any agency's control. Beware of promises that ignore that reality.

How do you handle scope creep?

Directly. When new requests come in that fall outside the agreed scope, we say so and propose either adding them to scope (with adjusted timeline/pricing) or pushing them to a future phase. We don't silently absorb work or guilt clients for asking.

Scope creep is how agencies either burn out their team or cut corners on existing work. The honest answer is almost always the right one: "Yes, we can do that — here's what it means for timeline and cost." Most clients respect the transparency and make an informed call. Silent scope creep is a red flag in any agency relationship.

Who owns the work and accounts?

You do — always. Your website, domain, ad accounts, analytics properties, content, and any work we produce belongs to you. We never host critical accounts under our umbrella or lock you into proprietary systems.

If you decide to leave, we hand over everything cleanly: account access, documentation, strategy docs, content, and any custom development. No ransom, no mysterious dependencies, no sudden missing access. This is table-stakes for any serious agency relationship — and unfortunately a differentiator in an industry where it shouldn't be.

How do we get started?

Start with Phase 01: a free 20-minute discovery call. No pitch, no pressure — just an honest conversation about your goals and whether we're the right fit.

From there, the path branches based on what makes sense for your situation. Sometimes it's a paid audit. Sometimes it's a specific one-off project. Sometimes we recommend an internal fix before hiring anyone. The discovery call is the only universal starting point — and it's always free. Book one when you're ready.
